AECjobs.co homepage: the AEC industry job board, built for the Front Range

The Challenge

Architecture, engineering, and construction firms hire constantly, and most of them hire badly, not for lack of effort but because the tools are wrong. LinkedIn and Indeed treat a structural engineer, a superintendent, and a proposal manager like any other job posting in any other industry. Firms pay for sponsored placement, get buried under recruiter noise, and candidates get harvested into resume databases they never asked to join.

The Front Range has one of the densest concentrations of AEC firms in the country and no job board built for it. We decided to build one.

The Approach

AECjobs.co is a Bold Brand venture, so we ran it exactly the way we run client work: strategy first. The positioning came out of the same frustration every AEC principal has voiced to us: the big platforms weren’t built for us. That became the brand’s core line, “Built for AEC, not everything,” and it shaped every decision after it.

The voice had to match the industry: direct, transparent, and allergic to hype. So the whole model got stated in one breath, right on the homepage: one price, no recruiters, no accounts, no resume harvesting. If you can’t explain the deal in a sentence, it isn’t simple enough.

The Work

Naming and identity. A name that says exactly what it is and where to find it, with a wordmark that pairs a confident slab serif against a lighter “.co,” in navy and Bold Brand orange. Warm off-white ground, an illustrated skyline of Front Range landmarks, and typography that reads more like a well-set trade publication than a tech startup.

Website design. A homepage that answers the three questions a hiring manager actually has, in order: Why here instead of LinkedIn? What does it cost? Is it local? Every listing is filterable by discipline (architecture, civil, structural, MEP, construction management, trades), employment type, and location.

Platform development. The board itself: employer posting flow with fixed $99 / 30-day pricing and $49 renewals, direct-to-inbox applications, and a candidate experience with zero friction: browse and apply with no account. Started on the Colorado Front Range, expanding across the Southwest (Wyoming, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico), with remote AEC roles welcome from anywhere.

The Results

AECjobs.co is live and listing. It’s also a working proof of the Bold Brand thesis: when a brand is built for one industry instead of every industry, it doesn’t have to shout. It just has to be right.

At a glance

  • Live platform with 50+ active AEC listings across the Front Range and Southwest
  • Fixed, transparent pricing: $99 per 30-day listing, no subscriptions or upsells
  • Candidates apply directly, with no accounts, no recruiters, no resume harvesting
